AI Isn’t an Intern Anymore
Last year many developers described AI coding tools as “an intern”: helpful, occasionally brilliant, but often confused and in need of supervision.
In the past year something changed.

I'm working on a 2.x version of the Opera theme and would love to get feedback on the design and features.

I also want to talk about the idea of Design Tokens, a module that could potentially take the place of the Color module. No release yet, but available for testing and feedback here:

There are over 1400 contrib projects for Backdrop CMS on Github. None of us have seen them all, most of us have forgotten as least some of them we've seen. We have all have favorites that we use regularly, but others might not know about. Over 40 new modules have been released since Jan 1, 2026 (as of March 1).
During this time slot, we'll be sharing some of our favorite modules, a recently released module, or an oldie but goodie.
Please, post a comment if your have a module your are willing to share.

Bee is the command line tool for Backdrop.
One relatively recent request that I have been thinking a lot about recently is having the ability to define settings for Bee and I have been thinking about what that might look like. I will share my thoughts so far and hopefully get ideas for what regular users of bee would find useful.
I've previously ported Gin to provide a modern admin theme to Backdrop -- and have been working behind the scenes to provide a new base theme for front end development, which I'm aiming to unveil at Backdrop Live. I'd like to get feedback and demonstrate:
I want to talk about developments since the last Backdrop LIVE.
Multiple provider modules have been released and I am also working on ai automators.
Welcome and introductions. We will ask everyone to introduce themselves and share a something about their experience with Backdrop CMS or what they hope to learn at Backdrop LIVE.
Project lead, Nate Lampton, will share a short summary of where the project stands and what we have accomplished since our last Backdrop LIVE.
